【A3I Winter school】A3I Academic-Industry Forum was conducted.
A3I Forum was held on the campus of University of Yamanashi on Feb 10(Fri.). In the first part of the forum, keynote speeches from two active leaders in the latest AI field were delivered. In the second part, the students made presentations about their research projects.
In this Forum, Mr. Shihong LAO, (CEO, SenseTime Japan Ltd.) and Dr. JoonHoon Park, (CEO, Neuromeka Co., Ltd.) delivered speeches entitled as “AI powering future” and “Anatomy of A Commercial Collaborative Robot from the Control Viewpoint” respectively. The speeches provided application cases of AI technologies in society, which helped the audiences to understand how AI has been applied in our daily life and how it will be further developed in the future. It was a precious opportunity for the audiences to get a full picture of AI technology nowadays and forthcoming.
In the following section of this forum, students from 5 teams presented their real-problem driven solutions with AI. The topics of their projects and research contents are as follows:

After the presentations, the excellent teams were selected according to the vote results. Team Grape Field Eye won the Gold Award and Team Meat Lover won the Silver Award.
This forum resulted in a deep understanding towards the latest direction of AI technology from the industry. In addition, the students got the opportunity to share and present their research projects, as well as exchange opinions with each other. It proved to be a fruitful forum.
