Pukyong National University (Korea) visited the University of Yamanashi
On Thursday, October 13, 2022, Professor CHUNG Wan Young and Professor CHUNG Yeon Ho from Pukyong National University (PKNU) in Korea visited the University of Yamanashi (UY).
PKNU is one of the partner universities for ”Asia Applied Artificial Intelligence (A3I): Real Problem Solving Driven Artificial Intelligence Education Program”, adopted by the CAMPUS Asia Plus from MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology – Japan) and the A3I program led to the signing the Memorandum of Understanding in March 2022.
First of all, the delegation visited the Satoshi Ōmura Museum to learn about Dr Omura’s achievements and the history of the UY, and then visited the laboratories and the Smart Agriculture Project Room, guided by Professor MAO Xiaoyang, Director of the Centre for International Education and Exchange, where they had a lively exchange of views on the research.
Next, at the conference with Dean NAKAYAMA Yoshihiro of the Faculty of Engineering and others, PKNU and UY introduced their university to each other to deepen better understanding, and also participants exchanged opinions on the Dual Degree Program.
Afterwards, they paid a courtesy visit to Executive Director NAKAMURA Kazuhiko and shared their future plans for faculty/student exchange. They also visited the Institute of Enology and Viticulture and had the opportunity to get to know the unique features of the UY and Yamanashi Prefecture.
A meeting was also held to address the A3I program, concluding with a promise of continued cooperation.
