Assistant Professor Won-Du Chang from Pukyong National University (PKNU) visited University of Yamanashi (UY)

On December 19th and 20th, 2022, an assistant professor Won-Du Chang from Department of computer engineering, Pukyong National University (PKNU) in Korea Republic visited University of Yamanashi (UY).

PKNU is one of the partner universities for ”Asia Applied Artificial Intelligence (A3I): Real Problem Solving Driven Artificial Intelligence Education Program”, adopted by the CAMPUS Asia Plus from MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology – Japan) and the A3I program led to the signing the Memorandum of Understanding between PKNU and UY in March 2022.

After a campus tour led by Professor Xiaoyang Mao of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Director of the Center for International Exchange), who is in charge of the A3I program, professor Chang  exchanged opinions about the A3I program and their research with professor Mao, professor Hiromitsu Nishizaki of the Department of Mechatronics and Associate Professor Masahiro Toyoura of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He also met two PKNU students studying at UY as A3I program’ exchange students and follow-up on the students’ lives.

On 20th afternoon, he had a lecture “Recent Technologies for Time-series Signal Recognition” for students interested in this A3I program, introducing PKNU Campus and laboratories, while sharing his research with UY professors and students. He also recruited prospective participants for the next year’s dual degree program.
