Program Date |

Q What motivated you to join the short program?
I have always been interested in Korean culture because I like Korean music and dramas. After I learned a little about Korean culture when I participated in A3I summer online program last year, I became more interested in Korean culture which led me to consider participating in an actual on-site program. I had traveled Korea before, but this program was composed of a wider range of Korean culture, which attracted me to make the decision of participating in the program.
Q What was your most memorable experience participating in the program?
The most memorable experience during the program was that I was able to communicate by using Korean I learned in the class or Korean words I already knew at markets and cafes, and by using them when talking with professors and students. Since I would never have a chance to use Korean in Japan, this was my first opportunity to check my Korean language skills, and I happily enjoyed talking in Korean with my friends.
Q What kind of classes and activities were held during the program?
In addition to Korean language classes, I could learn about a wide variety of Korean culture, from physical activities such as Taekwondo and K-POP, to traditional activities such as tea and pottery experiences, and opportunities to experience history by visiting museums and world heritage sites. This program involving diverse lessons on Korean cultural experiences, were very interesting. This program was not only classroom learning, but also hands-on experience and visits to actual sites, which I enjoyed more and learned more deeply. Together with the participants from China and Malaysia, I enjoyed Korean culture to the utmost.
Message to those considering joining the program
I think that actually going to a foreign country is a good opportunity to learn various things, such as noticing the good qualities of the country, noticing again the good qualities of Japan, being surprised by cultural differences, and so on. In particular, short-term program is easier to challenge than long-term study abroad, and can be a chance to broaden your future choices. Please take this opportunity to give it a try!
