Faculty members from Pukyong National University (PKNU) and University of Yamanashi (UY) exchanged information based on A3I program
As part of A3I Real Problem Solving Driven Artificial Intelligence Education Program, which was selected for the Inter-University Exchange Project, Professor Nishizaki and Assistant Professor Leow from Engineering Department, University of Yamanashi (UY) visited Pukyong National University (PKNU) in South Korea from August 30 to September 3, 2024.
The visit had two major objectives. The first objective was to accompany UY students who will be studying at PKNU. Seven first-year master’s students from UY will spend four months, from September to December 2024, studying at PKNU. The second objective was to conduct a seminar on the latest AI technologies being developed at UY.
Professor Nishizaki introduced research on AI robots for smart agriculture, while Assistant Professor Leow presented research on character recognition. These presentations provided a valuable opportunity for researchers and students from both universities to explore practical applications of the latest AI technologies.
Professor Nishizaki and Assistant Professor Leow held meetings with PKNU faculty to discuss joint research projects and co-supervision of master’s students. This initiative will undoubtedly further strengthen academic exchange between the two universities.
This visit marks a significant step in UY’s efforts to promote internationalization, disseminate advanced research, and nurture the next generation of researchers. Yamanashi University will continuously endeavor to engage in such international exchanges to nurture global-minded talents and advance world-class research.
